Custom status workflow
The lifecycle of roads, addresses and boundaries are managed with the Update Status tool. NG Data Manager includes a default workflow for promoting the status from Tentative to Retire. However, the default workflow may not apply to all organizations. Configurator includes a method for defining a status lifecycle workflow to override the default.
Select from a list of predefined workflows or create your own by adding, removing, and reordering one of the predefined workflows. Configurator ensures the workflow is logically consistent. You can save separate application instances with different update status workflows. For example, the system default status workflow can be assigned to an administrator, while other restricted status workflows can be assigned to other users.
- On the left side menu click Custom Status Workflow.
- Click one of the predefined workflows or Custom.
- If an existing workflow is modified the Custom option is automatically set.
- At this point Save the application instance if the workflow meets your needs, otherwise edit the workflow.
- Click the trash can beside the status if its not required in the workflow.
- Click the drag icon located beside the status to a new position in the workflow.
- Select a status from the pulldown, then click Add to include the status in the workflow.
- Click Save to to save the app instance after compiling the workflow.
When Retire is added to the workflow it must be the last status in the workflow and precede the Active status.
A workflow that ends with Active is valid.
Ensure the first status of the work flow is the same status as the default for new features. Otherwise the Update Status tool will not be able to promote the feature. For example on the SiteStructureAddressPoint configuration panel.
By default, currentstatus is set to Tentative. but you may prefer to set it to Approved or Pending. Refer to Status attributes panel.
New address points will be assigned this status value. However, the first status on the workflow must be set to the same status if you change the default.
